After nearly two years releasing quality Vinyl and MP3s from established and newcomer artists,BIOS now takes things a step further with this: an inspiring and fresh compilation featuring various producers from around the globe.....
CD1 contains 13 exclusive, quality BIOS cuts that are already turning heads and moving feet across dancefloors. From the transatlantic teamup between DAN MARSHALL and MIXMASTER DOC on the epic "EXODUS" (already a firm favorite with HIGH CONTRAST, MARKY, and LYNX), to Slovakian wunderkind DECEM's beautifully-rolling "DON'T SLEEP" (caned worldwide by LTJ Bukem), this unmixed CD has something special for all DnB fans. MUNK's "CIRCLES OF HELL' and BIONIC1's "FROZEN LIQUID" hit more rough-and-rugged territories, while SUBMORPHICS' "LOVE IS GONE" and STEREOTYPE's "SAY YES" successfully cover the smoother end of the spectrum. Further excellent creations from PRIME 8, SQUASH, GENERIC, CAMO, SUBZ, KROOKED, BMK, CODA, FLACO, and NAIBU round out this fantastic unmixed compilation geared towards both digital DJs and home listeners alike.
Moving over to CD 2, we find an expertly-crafted and exciting mix from none other than BIOS label owner and founder AMANING. Hosted by MC LOWQUI (Metalheadz resident MC), the hour-plus journey finds many of the tracks from the unmixed side as well as exclusives from some of the scene's heavyweights. LOXY and MATT-U join forces on "'DARK NIGHTS," NU:TONE and LYNX combine talents on "EAST TO WEST," and RANDOM MOVEMENT steps forth with the deep and brooding "LESSON AND AFTERMATH." Topped off with superb tracks from the likes of SYNCOPIX, BLAME, BLOCKS, WHIZZ, DAZE, and AMANING himself, this debut mix (the first in a series, with many guest selectors to come in the future) illustrates what the BIOS label is all about: quality through diversity. Drum & Bass is big in Germany & especially in Cologne! With more than 5 crews promoting Events on a regular basis, Germany´s first D&B Label Basswerk, as well as having international renown Producers like Phace, TGM, N.phect & Diz:play, Henree, X-plorer or Amaning to name but a few. Cologne has nothing to hide & sets a Mark in Germany´s D&B Circuit!
The Label:
There were days in the Nineties where you regularly had to hit the "DEL" - Button on your PC keyboard to reach the heart of your system - the "Basic Input Output System". Around that time a new style of electronic dance music from England had its first peak: The Music that is now known as "Drum'n'Bass". Ten years later it's time to go back to the heart of this beautiful music, time for a BIOS-Update. But it's not about configuring your system, it's about configuring your breakbeats. Amaning from Germany is the system administrator - his mission is to carefully select strong, quality tunes for his new imprint which is not about him as a producer but good music. The focus is to release good drum'n'bass, no matter where it's coming from or who programmed it.
There will be music from established producers as well as from up and coming artists, all styles will be represented. Quality not Quantity! With BIOS Recordings we aim to expand the strong growing musical but dancfloor orientated sound with international Artist like Drumagick from Brazil, Greg Packer from Australia or Contour from Finland just to name a few! We aim to put out strong quality releases from renowned as well as newcomer Producers, so if u think ure the hottest talent in ure area don´t hesitate to send us ure demo!
