Growing up with the US Hip Hop sound, FX909 (real name: Alexandre Lépy) is taken from the 1988 Acid House anthem “Rock To The Beat”. Alexandre bought his turntables in 1991, but his first real break as a DJ came in 1994. Getting massive recognition for the quality of his mixing in the Rave, Club and radio scene, his DJ skills allowed him to mix different styles of music - Hardcore, Techno, Electro and finally Drum ‘n’ Bass.

In 1997 Alexandre spent 6 months in London and came back to France with an urge to meet up with the French junglist movement. Since his first appearance on a French record label in 1999, he continued to sign many tracks and released around ten EP's on several French labels as well as co-writing a complete album in 2001. The entire French press were unanimous in describing the album “Perspectives” as a new landmark for the French Drum 'n' Bass scene. Being the first 100% French D 'n' B album of all time, it heralded nationwide exposure for the French Drum ‘n’ Bass movement.

In 2003 FX909 launched his second D 'n' B label entitled “Close Combat Records” and has now confirmed his position in the French scene. With his forthcoming debut UK releases for Defunked, Media Records, Jerona Fruits,Touchin Down Productions, 2004 looks set to be the year when FX909 exposes his music to a new & more global arena.
